The Oxbow Youth Veterinarian Camps were created especially for children who have a passion for animals and veterinary medicine, with the camp goal being to encourage, support, and promote bright futures in veterinary medicine, veterinary technology, companion animal care, and science. Two camp levels are available: Junior camp (for youth completing 2nd-5th grades) and Intermediate camp (for youth completing 6th-8th grades).
Camp Highlights
Science based curriculum developed and taught by individuals with a formal science and/or teaching background. Rotating curriculum topics also provide fresh experiences for returning campers year after year. Realistic and hands-on activities such as suturing, creating anatomy models, science-based crafts, conducting wellness exams, and much more. Opportunity to learn about veterinary science and directly engage with a veterinary professional through an interactive Q&A session Daily interaction with animals via “Animal of the Day” sessions Camp culminates in a mock surgery experience with campers receiving their own scrubs and stethoscopes!
